A research project English classical theater enters the elite of I + D + i state and receives an investment of 2.3 billion euros

.

A project managed and coordinated by Joan Oleza, professor of English Philology at the University of Valencia, has been selected within the Consolider, the maximum bet of the National R + D + i. The project is titled English Theatrical Classical Patrimony. Texts and Research Instruments and receive a grant of 2,300,000 euros. A hundred projects in all fields of science presented, only thirteen have been selected by an international scientific committee.

Since the program was founded Consolider (2006), is the first time a project goes into the selection philology, which always prevail experimental science projects advanced or advanced technologies.

.

The aim of the project is the formal establishment of the English research team Theatrical Classical Patrimony. Texts and Research Instrument Spain to provide an operational framework large capacity, able to perform more demanding research in the humanities field by a team strongly interrelated. This team, comprised of 136 researchers, belonging to 49 universities (25 English, 15 European, 9 American), and some research (CSIC), is organized into twelve groups and aims to compete for international leadership in the field of humanistic studies, and contribute to the participation of Hispanic cultural heritage in the new global network of references.

specific research area is the classic English theatrical heritage, which from the beginning of modernity is one of the identifiers nuclei Hispanic cultural heritage, while today it is one of the most active domains, extended and interrelated within the scope of international Hispanism .

regard to this heritage, the drivers have raised a number of questions able to conduct research and promote scientific progress on the current state of knowledge, which will design a research program that includes five major lines: 1. The creation of new research and application of new technologies in research on English classical theater, 2. Systematic editing of theatrical heritage to make it available to the scientific community and professional 3. A diverse set of studies on specific aspects of the area; 4. The creation of a collection of classic European theater, digital edition and in several languages \u200b\u200b(translations hyperlinked), and 5. An active policy of dissemination of research and outreach, and training of new researchers in this area.
